Wedding Photography in the Vale of Glamorgan
If there’s one part of South Wales that never stops surprising me, it’s the Vale of Glamorgan. Rolling countryside, ancient castles, vineyard estates, manor houses tucked behind long hedgerow-lined lanes — it’s a place that was made for wedding photography. I’ve lost count of the number of times a couple has said “we didn’t realise Wales looked like this.” It does, and I love being the person who gets to show it.
I’m Lewis, a documentary wedding photographer based in Bridgend — right on the edge of the Vale, making anywhere in the area incredibly easy for me to reach. I’ve photographed at Hensol Castle, the Vale’s most iconic grand-scale venue; the beautiful hillside winery of Llanerch Vineyard; the jaw-dropping clifftop setting of St Donats Castle; the ancient splendour of Fonmon Castle; and the sweeping parkland grounds of Duffryn House. Each one is completely different, and each one rewards a photographer who’s willing to explore.
The Vale gives you extraordinary light — open skies, golden meadows, long summer evenings. I photograph in a documentary style, so what you get is a genuine record of your day in one of the most beautiful landscapes in Wales.
What to Expect
My approach is simple: I stay close, stay quiet, and let your day unfold. I’m not a photographer who shouts across a room or herds guests into formation. I watch, I anticipate, and I photograph. The moments that matter most — the squeeze of a hand during the vows, the laugh shared between friends over dinner, the quiet look between you two as the evening slows down — those are the ones I’m always looking for, and they only appear when people aren’t thinking about the camera.
After your Vale of Glamorgan wedding you’ll receive 400–600 fully edited, high-resolution images in a private online gallery, delivered within four to six weeks. My editing style is warm and timeless — no heavy filters, just honest light and real colour. Packages start from £1,050, covering the full day from getting-ready to last dance, with full printing rights and a personal planning guide included.
